The Setting Out Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accurate setting out of construction works on-site, ensuring the project is built according to design specifications and technical drawings. This role is crucial in ensuring that all construction activities are aligned with the required standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience:
Proven experience (7-10+ years) as a Setting Out Engineer, ideally within civil engineering or infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, utilities, bridges).
Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in using surveying and setting out instruments (e.g., GPS, Total Stations, AutoCAD). Familiarity with construction methodologies and industry standards.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in setting out works and ensuring dimensional compliance.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve on-site technical issues promptly and efficiently.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients.
IT Skills: Competent in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office)
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate Setting Out: Establish and verify precise control points, levels, and lines on site using a range of equipment (e.g., GPS, total stations, lasers) for various civil engineering structures (roads, bridges, drainage systems, etc.).
Technical Supervision: Interpret and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure all works are set out correctly and comply with design requirements.
Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections and measurements to ensure all works are executed to the required specifications and tolerances.
Liaise with Teams: Collaborate with site managers, subcontractors, and project engineers to ensure clear communication of design information and timely problem-solving for on-site issues.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all setting out data, measurements, site activities, and any deviations or modifications to the design. Prepare daily/weekly reports for site progress and quality checks.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all site health and safety regulations and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Stakeholder Management: Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure expectations and standards are met throughout the construction process.
